Live Well, Age Well
The ‘Live Well, Age Well’ 5 week program will be commencing on Thursday 15th August from 12.30pm - 2.30pm.
This is a FREE program for older people (and those that care for them) to enhance their health and wellbeing.
The goal of Live Well, Age Well is to help older people to maintain their health, wellbeing and independence for as long as possible, to build and maintain social relationships, and to be supported to do the things they love.
The program comprises of 5 weekly sessions of interactive activities and information sessions with various guest speakers in attendance to share from their work/life experience.
The activities covered range from mindfulness exercises such as meditation, nature walks and Tai Chi / chair styled exercises, through to learning how to set up a smart phone or a social media account such as ‘Whats App’ to help people stay connected with loved ones.
The information sessions cover topics such as medication reviews and telehealth appointments through to navigating the My Aged Care system.
Each activity and information topic has been chosen by focus group representatives to ensure it is relevant and beneficial for older people.
Live Well, Age Well has been designed to encourage people to make friends and reduce social isolation.
