About Us
“Come and let everyone who hears say come. And let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes take the water of life as a gift.”
Revelation 22:17
Glenrock Anglican is a parish in the Diocese of Newcastle. We are located in the north-east corner of the Lake Macquarie district, one of the fastest growing regional hubs in Australia.
As a local community of faith we seek to embody the way of Jesus in both word and deed.
Our parish has a rich history spanning almost 100 years, with countless stories of faithful service, innovation, and determined resolve. We walk on the shoulders of those who have come before us and carry their spirit and legacy with us. In 2019 we moved from our former base at St.Alban’s Charlestown to join our congregation at St.Martin’s, in the heart of the Kahibah Shopping Village.
Our church is nestled in a leafy and vibrant community on the traditional lands of the Awabakal people. We are blessed with a beautiful natural environment that reaches from the deep-blue ocean, golden sands and Glenrock Lagoon, through native bushland, to our leafy urban neighbourhoods of Kahibah, Highfields, Whitebridge, Charlestown and Dudley. This setting connects us daily to the beauty of God’s creation.
Our Vision
Our vision is to develop an inclusive and diverse multi-generational community in North East Lake Macquarie.
Our logo draws inspiration from the stunning natural treasure trove of Glenrock Conservation Area and the vibrant community hub of Kahibah – which takes its name from the Aboriginal word ky-yee-bah meaning place of games, or to be active and eager. The Tree of Life motif was chosen for its far reaching branches and deeply grounded roots, symbolising our commitment to be present and connected to our local neighbourhood.
