How’s your diet going?

From Rev. Stephen Williams

There’s an old saying that you are what you eat. We need to pay attention to what we fill up with. Good food, good friends, good entertainment and the right amount of everything.

But that’s all pointless if we don’t ensure that our spirit is nurtured and fed. As Jesus said, we do not live on bread alone. (Mtt.4:4)

And speaking of bread, Jesus talked about himself being like really nourishing food, like good bread. (Jn 6:35)

When you get nourished and fed by him, Jesus said, you will be filled up in the best way possible. This is bread for eternal life, not just something that satisfies us for the moment.

And if we do open ourselves up to the nourishment of God, we will always have plenty to share with others.
